black high flyers
wings like blades cut through the mexican days
like dark ages menace mounted on a mobile turning slow
arcing slow
making a good show
over the death row down below them
not unlike the pelican six deep regiment of beaks
ninety percent beak
cruising for the weak swimmers
crazy with marching orders
skimming off the cream
your instinct said don’t dive too deep
foaming around me
i am swallowed by the sea
i’m not friendly, i’m not built for this
there’s no ceiling and no gravity but i can’t live without you
